DAY 1: Pick up from hotel / Airport and transfer to Goma town

Our Safari Guide will pick you up from your Hotel or pick you up from the Airport in Kigali depending on the time you will engage in a City tour of Kigali to the Genocide memorial site, craft shops and local market, we later depart by Road for Congo through Gisenyi and crossover to Goma town via the Goma border of Rwanda – Congo. The Estimated driving time from Kigali is 5-6 Hours. You will arrive on time for your Dinner and Overnight at

DAY 2: Hike to Mt Nyiragongo
After breakfast, we transfer to Kibatsi village at the Ranger Post at the base for Mt Nyiragongo. Attend morning briefing and registration and along with your service rangers, Porters and Food providers, we start our hike to Mount Nyiragongo to the summit of an active volcano in the heart of Virunga national park. Congo’s volcano hike starts at 6,510 feet at an Altitude of 1870m and ends when you reach the summit at 11,400 feet high, so it’s approximately 10 miles and 6.5Km of walking up the mountain. You only get four stops of 20 minutes to rest, but not to worry if you are a slow hiker, the whole group has to stick together and take the pace of the slowest member. During this Adventure you will have four armed Guards, two of these hike first and the remaining two follow the group from the back and make sure no one is left behind. The average Hike of Nyiragongo May take you roughly 6 hours hike each depending on the group’s physical Fitness. The Lava is Best view in the Night so you will spend the Night at the Summit for Best rewarding Views of the Lava Lake. DAY 3: Return to Nyiragongo Base and Departure
An early Rise, enjoy breakfast and Descend Nyiragongo to Meet up with your Driver Guide at the Base of the Mountain by around 11:00 am, taking you an average of about 4 Hours walk and Cross back into Rwanda in Gisenyi where you will have your Lunch before Connecting back to Kigali Town for a transfer to your Hotel or Airport for your Flight.
