The 3 Days Ssese Islands Tour takes you to Ssese Islands also known as Bugala Island that lies in the Northwestern Corner of Lake Victoria which are an archipelago of 84 islands on Lake Victoria in Uganda. Lake Victoria is the second largest fresh water lake in the world and the largest in Africa. It is home to over several Islands that offer beautiful, exclusive, and exotic vacations together with a romantic ambiance and numerous fun facilities.

The tour takes you to one of the bigger islands for a distinctive tropical island experience as you walk through the forests and enjoy beach time. This Island is approximately 51 Km across water and located in the Southwest of Entebbe.

DETAILED ITINERARY FOR YOUR 3 DAYS SSESE ISLAND TOUR & KALANGALA

DAY 1: Kampala – Transfer to Ssese Island on Lake Victoria Kalangala

Today you will be picked up from your hotel by mid-morning and driven to Entebbe pier where you will board the ferry to Ssese Islands. The ferry to Ssese Islands leaves from Nakiwogo landing site in Entebbe on the shores of lake Victoria only once a day at 2pm arriving at the Lutoboka Landing site in Kalangala District at about 5-5:30 pm which is an approximately 3 hours journey. There is an alternative route through Masaka district south west of Kampala. This is a 2 hours’ drive from Kampala to arrive at the pier in Masaka. The ferry journey is a about 30 minutes on water plus another 1 hour drive on the Island to reach the lodge location which has been developed for tourism.  Depending on the accommodation you will be spending the Night, We drive / walk a few metres from the landing site along the beach and check into a Hotel of your Choice for an overnight.

The Day will be spent on travel and there will be no major activities upon arrival except camp fire which will be lit on request. Enjoy your Dinner and Overnight at

DAY 2: Ssese Island Tour – Full Day Relaxing by the Beach / Take a Nature walk / Boat Ride / Fishing. 

Wake up to great views of the Sunrise over the Lake and the white sand beach on Ssese Islands and depending on your desired Options ; After your breakfast by the beach, you may take a Forest / Nature walk in Lutoboka Central Forest Reserve, The Lutoboka forest is described as medium altitude moist forest lying on 378 hectares of land gazzetted in 1948.and if you are a bird lover, there are over 300bird species with small species of birds like the Egrets and Kingfisher and many others in this forest and lots of primates in the forest on Ssese Island in the Lutoboka Forest.

Or Wake up early for a cup of Coffee by 6:30am and be ready to set off with the Fishermen for a 2 Hour Fishing Experience in the typical African Fishing experience that is exciting and rewarding with a Tilapia for lunch

Lastly you can choose to bike to the different areas on the Island, the lodge can provide you a map to guide you on your biking or choose to go along with a guide. All these activities can be done in the morning.

Later return for lunch and an Afternoon to relax by the white sands on the Lake Victoria’s Ssese islands beach. Or Spend a Full Day Relaxing by the Beach and doing Indoor Activities. Overnight at Hotel of Your Choice as above.

Day 3: Transfer back to Entebbe to meet your Guide who will transfer you back to Kampala!

We have an early breakfast, and we check out of the Hotel at about 7:30am and head back to the ferry, boarding at about 8:00am and we sail on the lake Victoria for about 3hours back to Nakiwogo Landing Site in Entebbe, where you will meet your Driver and take a Visit of the Uganda Wildlife Education Center for the ‘behind the scenes’ experience or proceed to your hotel in Entebbe or drive back to Kampala / Home.
