DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1: Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National park for a boat ride on Kazinga Channel

Your guide will meet you at your hotel in Kampala / Entebbe after your Breakfast and head west to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a stop at the Equator to experience how you can be in both hemispheres at once, visit the Royal Drum makers for a short talk and continue through the lush hills of the Park with a game drive Enroute, arriving in the evening. Enjoy your lunch at the lodge, After which you will enjoy a boat ride on the Kazinga Channel which separates Lakes Edward and George, viewing a variety of game on the banks, seen drinking at the water’s edge as Buffalo linger in the shallows and a tremendous variety of birds grace the grasses on the shores including the Great White, Pink-Backed Pelicans, Great and Long-Tailed Cormorants, Open-Billed Stork, African Jacana. We Later return to our Lodge / Camp for Dinner and Overnight.

DAY 2: Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura gorge and Guided Walks 

This will be the most interesting but tiresome day. You will have a cup of African tea early in the morning before going for your chimpanzee trekking to the Kyambura Gorge encounter Chimpanzees and other Primates on your way enjoy views of game-like buffaloes, water bucks, warthogs, a variety of birds, lions, Uganda kobs and others animals.
After your lunch, there are great surprises waiting for you in the extensive Maramagambo forest. Before this Walk, a brief history and background of the forest are given. While on the guided forest nature walk, you will see the bat cave in which there are pythons which usually feed on the bats. There are other trails which lead you to crater lakes and the famous blue River which is near the bat caves. You may as well see other primates like chimps, elephants and birds. Later return to your Lodge / Camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: Morning Game Drive – Transfer to Fort portal Visit amabere Ga nyina Mwiru Caves and Falls

An early start, we take our Morning Game drive on time to catch up with the early risers’ game drive that starts at 6:30 am when the predators are returning to their hideouts. You may see elephants, lions, spotted hyenas, leopards and hippos grazing. After your game drive have a late breakfast. Then proceed to Fort Portal town for lunch, afternoon proceed to Amabere ga nyina mwiru Caves for a walk to the Falls and continue your walk for a hike along the Nyakasura hills that are a result of volcanic eruptions. You will hike to the top for amazing views. You will also get to see swamps/wetlands and crater lakes which are a result of volcanic eruptions providing you breath-taking views of the Rwenzori Mountains in the backdrop. Later drive to your Lodge in Fort portal Town or Kibale Forest in preparation for your Next day’s Chimpanzee trekking Activity. Enjoy dinner and Overnight at

DAY 4: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park- Bigodi Swamp Walk

After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the park offices to meet the ranger guides for a briefing before your trek. You will set off into the forest to track a community of Chimpanzees. Get to see a Community of up to 3 large communities of Chimpanzees that have been habituated for the tracking adventure. You will locate the Chimps without so much straining since the territory of each Chimp community is known beforehand by advanced trackers as it will be communicated by your guides. While you trek through the forest you will observe plenty of other wildlife. Other primates which you may spot include Red Colobus Monkey, L’Hoest Monkey, Grey-cheeked Mangabey, and Vervet Monkeys. The bird lovers will spot many forest specials from a total of 335 bird species recorded in the forest. The pant hoots and loud screams of the Chimpanzees can be heard from a distance and will lead you to the community which you will spend no more than an hour observing and following in the forest. The Chimpanzees will be swinging through trees with so much speed, pant hooting, slapping tree barks and screaming to locate each other. It is an adrenaline-giving atmosphere and a memorable experience. You will then return to the lodge for lunch.

Later in the afternoon you will transfer to the Bigodi Wetland swamp which is situated on the eastern edge of the forest. There you will take a light walk in the wetlands to observe plenty of wildlife including birds and many monkey species. Return in the evening for dinner and overnight at the Lodge or Camp as above.

DAY 5: Breakfast and drive back to Kampala / Entebbe

After a leisurely breakfast, we drive back to Kampala with your lunch en-route and on arrival transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight or transfer to Entebbe Airport for your outbound flight.
