This 10 Days Uganda Wildlife Adventure Tour to the Western part of Uganda and further to the Southwestern part of the countryside gives you Opportunities to track Rhinos at Zziwa Sanctuary,  Take a Hike to the Top of the most powerful Falls, big Game viewing, Wildlife Adventures, on the Launch Cruises in Murchison Falls National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park and get up-close with the Primates; Chimpanzees of Kibale Forest National Park, Community Visits, Pygmy Visit and Relaxing by Lake Bunyonyi Island.

DETAILED SAFARI ITINERARY

DAY 1: Arrival Airport and Transfer to Your Hotel in Kampala / Entebbe Town

Our Safari Guide from MuAfrika Adventures will Pick you up from Entebbe Airport upon arrival, and transfer you to your Hotel / Lodge in Kampala or Entebbe Town as per Arrival time.

Estimated Time: 45Min – 2 Hours drive depending on the Road Traffic Jam

DAY 2: Pick up from your Hotel and drive to Murchison Falls National Park, Enroute stop at the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

After your Breakfast, Our guide will pick you up from your hotel and depart by Road for Murchison Falls National Park, with a stop at the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Here you will be able to see the Rhinos as well as enjoy your Lunch. Rhino Fund Uganda works to reintroduce black and white rhinos into Uganda and runs a breeding programme, as well as works to educate communities on endangered rhinos, poaching and environmental conservation. Tracking the rhinos will take approximately 1-2 hours and you will have the opportunity to view them at a very safe and close range. After enjoying your lunch, then continue for a further drive before reaching Murchison Falls National Park – Uganda’s largest national park. On arrival at the Park, you will drive to the Top of the Falls (approximately 45 minutes). The spectacular sight of the world’s longest river exploding through a narrow cleft in the rock into a frothing pool 43metres below is not to be missed! Later Proceed to the Park’s head to your accommodation on time for Dinner and Overnight at your Lodge / Camp.

DAY 3: Game drive – Launch Cruise On the Nile Delta
A very early morning rise to go for your Game drive on time based on where you spend the night and go for a game drive in search of predators and early risers on the Northern bank of the Nile. You may have a chance to see game like hyenas, giraffes, lions, birds, Hartebeests, buffalos, elephants, primates and others as well as different species of Birds.  After the game drive return to the camp/ lodge for lunch. In the afternoon go for a launch cruise on the great Victoria Nile to the Bottom of the falls. The boat ride will reward you with water game like hippos, crocodiles, elephants and plenty of birds dashing and walking along the banks. Dinner and overnight as above.

DAY 4: Murchison Falls National Park – Kibale Forest National Park (Uganda Chimpanzee trekking) / Fort Portal Town.
Today you will travel through Murchison Falls National Park to Fort Portal town, through the villages and beautiful scenery of Kagadi, Kyenjojo Towns Enroute. You will have lunch enroute and you will arrive late afternoon. In the evening if time allows, you will have local guides for walks around the 1000-acre farm, to the Mahoma Water Fall, and the Walk will take you around crater rims, past alcohol brewing in oil drums, through banana plantations, coffee terraces, plots of cassava, groundnuts, sorghum and millet. Dinner and overnight at Lodge / Camp.

DAY 5: Chimpanzee Tracking – drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a Stop at the Katwe Salt Lake for a Community Tour

An early morning report to the Park Headquarters ranger station for a short briefing to go for your chimpanzee trekking. You will be briefed about the whole process of tracking and then you will head along the tracks in the forest to search for chimpanzees. The walk through the park will be guided providing information about not only chimpanzees but also flora and fauna. You will then meet the chimpanzees and spend some time watching them feed and making their calls. If you are lucky to find them hunting this is the best time, as you watch them share the meal amongst themselves. After tracking you will have Lunch and later drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park enroute stop at the Katwe salt Lake to see Old Methods of Salt Mining.

This tour gives you a unique insight into the fascinating yet tough process of salt mining, as well as providing an alternative income for Katwe. During the tour of the lake, you will see community members at work, cross the mud walkways and enter one of the traditional grass huts, used to shelter and store tools. Later in the evening transfer to your Lodge / Camp for your Dinner and Overnight.

DAY 6: Game Drive – Launch Cruise on Kazinga Channel

Wake up before sunrise to a cup of tea or a glass of water and then set off to the park tracks for a game drive to be able to see predators as they return to their hideouts and the early risers. During the drive watch out for game like Leopards, Lions, giant forest hogs, hyenas, Uganda kobs, warthogs and others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for breakfast and then later have lunch and transfer for your afternoon Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel. The launch that takes you along the Kazinga channel that connects Lakes George and Edward will reward you with game like Hippos, elephants and buffaloes at the shores not forgetting plenty of birds. Dinner and overnight as above.

DAY 7: Drive to the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, check out and transfer to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park for a Game drive. The Ishasha Sector lies close to the southwestern tip of Queen Elizabeth National Park for your lunch. Ishasha is a vast low-lying savannah plain lying south of the equator in the Albertine Rift Valley. Famous for its tree-climbing lions that are famed for tree climbing, a trait only shared with other lions in the Lake Manyara region in Southern Tanzania. They often spend the hottest parts of the day in the fig trees found throughout the area, The Ishasha River separates the larger Parc National des Virunga in DR Congo with which it shares an international boundary. Dinner and Overnight at your Lodge / Camp.

DAY 8: Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park – Lake Bunyonyi Island Kabale.

After breakfast transfer to Lake Bunyonyi Island Proceeding southwards leaving for the Border town of Kabale Passing through many coffee and banana plantations enroute, we arrive in Kabale and proceed to Lake Bunyonyi Island in the afternoon to drive to your hotel/resort for Lunch. Have an afternoon to relax at your Resort.

DAY 9: Boat to the Pygmy Visit – Afternoon Relax at the Resort

After breakfast, we visit a Pygmy colony of the Batwa people. These people are the oldest recorded inhabitants of the Great Lakes region of central Africa. The current populations are also found in Rwanda, Burundi and the eastern Congo. Today there are approximately 80,000 Pygmies, making them a significant minority group. Originally they were hunters and gathers, but they have now been relocated from the Kigezi forest to make way for protected gorilla parks. Possessing a rich cultural heritage, today they are farmers and builders. Later return to your Lodge / Resort for Lunch and spend the Afternoon Relaxing. Dinner and Overnight as above.

DAY 10: Transfer from Lake Bunyonyi Island – Entebbe

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, and later depart Lake Bunyonyi Island, Passing through Mbarara Town for  Kampala with a Lunch Stop enroute in Masaka or at the equator for your souvenir shopping, photo shooting and possibly for tea/coffee break. Arrive in Kampala and transfer to Entebbe airport on time for your flight back home. End of your 10 Days Uganda Wildlife Adventure Tour of Murchison Falls, Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth, Ishasha and Lake Bunyonyi Island.

While on a Safari always be sure to have all your belongings before checking out of the Accommodations to avoid losing things that may be important to you.

Transport:

Our Safaris involve a lot of travelling on main Tarmac and Dirt Roads thus transport is provided in closed 4X4 Wheel drive Toyota Land Cruisers for all luxury Tours and the standard 4×4 Wheel drive Safari minivans for all Midrange Safaris. All Vehicles are provided with pop-top roofs for easy and excellent safari viewing. All passengers will have a dedicated window seat. Your professional English speaking and courteous driver/guide will be at your disposal for questions or translations.

For fly-in safaris, a combination of light aircraft and small planes ranging in size from Cessna 206’s to Cessna Grand Caravans and Charters but luggage is restricted. This is also Combined with the use of closed 4×4 Wheel Drive Vehicles with pop-top roofs that pick you up from the Airfields since they are located far away from the National Parks and Lodges that are usually in remote areas and this may involve some travelling on the main tarmac or dirt roads to reach the final destinations.

What to bring with you for a wildlife safari

  • Rain Jacket is essential as it could unpredictably Rain
  • Light Clothes as the sun does shine pretty bright in Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth National Parks
  • Torch is essential for safety purposes
  • Sunglasses to protect you from direct sun rays
  • A zoom lens Camera for photographs
  • A good insect repellent to keep those persistent Insects and Mosquitoes away.

NB: It is not a Guarantee to see all the Various Animals in the Parks, especially Cats but there is a great chance that you might see them during an Evening or Early Morning Game drive because it is less hot around that time and therefore the animals are freely roaming around as opposed to typical afternoon hours when it gets too hot for the animals and they go undertaking cover from the sun.
